Zero Kilometer
This is right in front of Red Square entrance... it is the point from which distances are measured. For good luck you are supposed to stand in the middle and toss coins over your shoulder... funny thing is... the people work in shifts picking up the coins. I probably wouldn't care if they were not drunk.

Tomb of the Unknown Soldier
I am so glad that I was able to go to Arlington National Cemetery and stand in awe of the United Stated Tomb of the Unknown soldier. The tomb in Russia is just outside of the Kremlin. They too sand watch 24 hours a day 7 days a week in honor.

ReplyDeleteIsn't Lenin's tomb empty now? My parents visited Moscow when the man's body was still in there and said it was pretty creepy.
Also, the big shopping place GUM... This brings back memories of my Russian classes over the years. We always had fictional people going to the magazine or to GUM to buy things.
Fingers crossed for a court date.
